NATIONAL TAVERN “LIDO” in RIGA

The buildings were built using specially selected Latvian fir-trees. Most of them - 100+ years old. LIDO center represents a unique type of wooden building – guļbūve. It is the largest of its kind both in Latvia and in Europe. Currently there are “Alus pagrabs” (Beer Basement), Bistro hall and Swedish table located in the Center.
The recreation center can host 1000 visitors with various tastes: from vegetarians to lovers of fat sausages. “LIDO Recreation Center” is proud of its mini restaurant-type brewery – first in Latvia. It produces exclusive unfiltered beer.

Also the center is proud of its sweetshop where people can buy fresh muffins, cakes and pies all day long.

Our main objective is to take care of our visitors and “LIDO Recreation Center” is a pleasant place to be where families with children feel at home too. We want people to feel that they are taken care of and they would like to return to LIDO.

Everyone can choose a meal to his/her own taste and possibilities from the excellent bistro cuisine. They offer almost 500 different meat and fish dishes, pasta, pizza, pancakes and desserts. Organically produced Latvian products are used here and much attention is paid to healthy and well-balanced diet. The Bistro offers also dishes which nutritive value is indicated in the Weight Watchers' score system.

The restaurant type mini-brewery is the only one of its kind in Latvia, where only live beer is made according to LIDO brewers' recipes. It's worth trying it!

Three types of live beer: LIDO Light, LIDO Special and LIDO Mead are made simultaneously at the LIDO brewery. Any visitor is welcome to watch the brewing process. Capacity of the brewery is 900 litres of unstrained beer per day. A full production cycle lasts from 21 to 28 days. Beer is delivered to bars through special pipes - pythons - directly from the beer tanks. The biggest python is 92 metres long. LIDO beer has been recognized by professionals, it has got a gold and bronze at an international competition Riga Beer - 2001 and recognition at professional beer tasting organized by the Latvian Brewers' Union.

Restaurant “Kaļķu Vārti” in Rīga Old Town

«Kaļķu Vārti» is a restaurant located in the historical and business centre of Old Town. It presents you an opportunity to open the gate to a journey into the world of meals accompanied by the play of flavours and tastes of healthy and natural products revealing the mysteries of culinary traditions of various cultures. It offers a feast that may allure surprise and satisfy, at the same time also revealing unknown aspects of the well known things. It is an offer one can enjoy during the business lunch or when relaxing at night.

The number of places is 200. This is a restaurant with a modern interior containing historic elements. Their specialties are both European cuisine and Latvian national cuisine. Art of service must be especially emphasized. The main advantage of the restaurant is that only fresh ingredients are used for preparing food (for example, fresh, but not frozen fish are delivered to the restaurant). It ensures a higher quality and a desire for every visitor to come back. There are several halls in the restaurant – the ground floor with an elegant interior of the restaurant and a basement or restaurant's Club Hall with a historic stone wall arches. Musical events are taking place in the Club hall on the small stage. During summer a roof terrace is available, the visit of which is made even more fascinating by the splendid view on Līvu Square, as well as the refreshing decorative plants. The best thing about Kaļķu Vārti is the sweeping views of the new party-central of Riga, Līvu Square. This establishment somehow manages to combine its location with a private, intimate setting in a formal atmosphere. Kaļķu Vārti is an oasis from the crowds surrounding the place.

ROZENGRĀLS

The restaurant ROZENGRĀLS is already open after reconstruction in the centre of Old Riga on the Rozena Street. These premises were mentioned in the scripts in 1293 as the most ancient wine-vault and festival place of the Riga City Council!
